Started from setlist.fm, rebuilt from the fan archives
Pick5 started with setlist.fm as its baseline. Through 2026 we have rebuilt each band’s history from that band’s own fan archive, the site its fans have kept for years, and for Billy Strings we have also checked it against the setlists the band posts. Where those disagree with setlist.fm, we go with them. For these four bands our setlists are more complete than setlist.fm’s as a result. They still aren’t perfect, and if you find an error we want to hear about it.
Each band’s source
- Billy Strings: billybase. Also checked against the setlist sheets Billy's own team posts on Instagram, a hand-checked collection shared with us by TrainSongz.
- Phish: phish.net.
- Goose: El Goose.
- Widespread Panic: PanicStream during shows, Everyday Companion for the history.
What the Billy Strings check turned up
In September 2026 we compared every Billy Strings show we hold, song by song, with billybase (1,064 shows) and with the band’s own posted setlists (475 shows). The history we had seeded from setlist.fm was missing 249 song plays across 136 shows. Halloween 2025 had lost four songs, “Spring Song” among them. All 249 are back, and every play count and gap that depends on them was recalculated.
During a show
While a band is on stage we read its fan archive every 30 seconds and rebuild the whole setlist from it at least every two minutes, so a fix made at the source shows up here within minutes. After the show we keep checking for a while to pick up songs that were posted late.
One song, one name
Sources spell songs differently: typos, abbreviations, a cover listed under another band’s title. We record each spelling as another name for the same song instead of creating a second one, because two entries for one song would split its play count and throw off its gap. A title that matches nothing goes on a list we review every day until it is resolved. Play counts and gaps are counted across every show we have on file for the band, including the years before Pick5 existed.
Found a mistake?
Email support@pick5.io with the band, the date and what’s wrong. A link to the band’s post or the fan-site page helps most. Once it’s fixed in the archive, every count and gap that depends on it updates too.
Pick5 isn’t affiliated with any of these sites or bands. They write the setlists down first, and every show page links back to its source. Browse the bands.
